Latest EP (Straight Sippin)

1 2 3, 1 2 3 Drink

March 29th,2019 marks the date that an EP has been released onto streaming sites (and Bandcamp)

In an attempts to be hip and with it, the EP was named ‘Straight Sippin’.

Straight Sippin is comprised of 6 tracks loosely tied to the hip hop genre.

Now I know some of you may be thinking; ‘how was your EP conceived?’ what was the inspiration?

Well…

It all started with Bubble Tea…

Seriously. A few months ago, I produced the track called ‘Bubble Tea’ while on the GO (train) on my way to work. I was experimenting with the Studio One Sampler (SampleOne) and a sample from the Converse Sample Library(go figure).

I was that obnoxious person on the train blaring half baked musical ideas on cheap headphones (and it was worth it!). That was one of three tracks that I produced while I was on my way to work. I decided on the EP’s theme long after I completed each of the individual tracks.

My process is that I tend to write down all the non released tracks on a piece of paper and I group them in a strange way. I don’t group directly by genre but I try to find songs that can flow in a way that would make sense to me. In this case, I had 6 tracks that I could relate to drinks.

Favourite Track on the EP?

I have no favourites. They are all my babies and I love them all equally.

Says no producer…ever!

Actually, my favourite track depends on my mood. So at the time of writing this post, my favourite track is Taro on Ice because I haven’t had chilled taro milk tea in years and I crave it from time to time.

A few weeks ago, my favourite track was Pina Colada because I was craving pineapple a few weeks prior.

I like ‘I Got Wings’ when I want to simulate the state of being wired. etc.

In conclusion, my EP is available on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Bandcamp, etc. Basically it’s everywhere so check it out!
