One thing you should all know is that I make what I want to make. I experiment with what I want to experiment with. I love to sample myself and sample my own songs again and again. I cross genres. I get obsessed with certain sounds and now more than ever I like to follow my musical joy and bliss.
My most recent projects are complete opposites of each other.
I released a single called “East End Bluffs” which is a more chillhop/lofi dreamy feel (but very much authentic to me) and I released a short EP called “GTA Sandbox Mode” where I created 3 tracks nearly from external sounds I collected on my man’s zoom H2n in an ambient/experimental way. The first track on the album has a VST soft ambient synth melodic line. For the arturia synth line, I refused to quantize it if it’s any consolation. But the other 2 tracks were strictly sounds I recorded while on buses, trains, subways, parks, local trails, my house, etc (aka no sample packs)
In future, I’m looking to do some more soundscape and ambient type work to tickle my fancy as an artist again. In fact, I will say that I’ve been getting interested in the genre known as lowercase and what draws people to it. I don’t think I’ll tackle the genre on a whole but I’d like to find ways to incorporate it’s musical philosophy into my future pieces.
