Greetings, my artist name is HIM3E (nee Sarah) and I am a Toronto Brampton based hipster model,actor,comedianne music creator. I thrive on making my own instrumentals (via keys and guitar), and on resampling my older works to create something new, (with) something old, something borrowed (sample packs like the Converse Library), and something blue (Studio One Audio Box)…
One could say that I sometimes inspire myself …
So about my Genre of Choice
I am genrefluid. I am also hoping genrefluid will becoming a thing which would be ‘So Fetch’. Oh, and my music is for genrefluid audiophiles.
Just Kidding! maybe pan genre would be more fitting
In all honesty, I produce mainly atmospheric, chill, (cute) experimentally inspired music which transports listeners into a different world for a few minutes. I formally claimed electronica as my genre as I dabble with hip hop, trap, and house and ambient/ IDM. Overall, I make and release what I like regardless of it’s formal genre because I love music.
How did HIM3E come to be?
HIM3E was born out of bitterness rebellion against the sound alike industry. Prior to HIM3E, I was trying to produce soundalike tracks in the hopes that they’d make it into TV and movies (I honestly thought it would be easy). Although I got a few licenses (which yes, boosted my ego), I wasn’t happy with trying to sound like or similar to someone else on purpose. It also didn’t help that I lacked patience and couldn’t follow instructions…
While I was trying to make soundalikes, I gained some production skills (thank you Youtube and Lynda) which I’ve translated over into making my brand of music. This is something I am grateful for.
In January 2018, I released my first album called ‘MIRRORS’ and from June-August 2018, I periodically released my second album called ‘The Intricate Inner Life of a Wallflower’. My most recent album is called ‘Subcity’ which was released Feb 21 2019.
I also have a raw podcast called ‘The Secret Life of A Shy Producer’ where I candidly talk (aka ramble) about what’s going on with me musically (and yes sometimes personally) as an introverted music creator.
I am currently expanding the ways in which I artistically express myself and in future I will be putting out some interesting pieces (so be on the look out for them).
On a side note, writing this description reminds me of the days I was writing dating profiles (fun yet exhausting)… take that as you may but just so you know, I’m gladly taken.
